When it came to the clothes on Full House, some of the actresses were sure to share their thoughts.
On an episode of the “How Rude, Tanneritos” rewatch podcast, actors Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin reminisced over one episode’s behind-the-scenes fashion argument.
Sweetin, 42, who played Stephanie Tanner, and Barber, 48, who played Kimmy Gibbler on the popular 90’s comedy centered in San Francisco, reminisced over the season 3 episode titled “Just Say No Way,” which aired on March 30, 1990.
The narrative of the episode had DJ Tanner realizing that her high school lover Kevin (Scott Curtis) was drinking while underage — even though Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) assumed she was the one that was drinking.
In that episode, Candace Cameron Bure, who portrayed DJ Tanner, wore an all black ensemble consisting of a wide belt, MC Hammer trousers and a black bustier with gold elements and a cropped black jacket. Her hair, clearly, was huge.
Sweetin remembers the kind of hair that Cameron Bure, 48, had in the episode.
“This was the hair that she would pull her hair out to the side, and then you’d spray it like that. You’d practically spray it so your hair went out to the side of your head,” she said. “I feel like shoulder pads were getting a little smaller, but the bangs were getting a lot bigger.”
Barber concurred, replying, “The bangs. Baby’s got bangs, man. It is huge hair, large outfit.” She stated that the clothing was a Cameron Bure choosing herself.
“Candace loved this outfit,” Barber said. “The producers wanted her to wear a dress. She was like, no. This is what I want wear, this small pantsuit attire. And she got to.”
Both Sweetin and Barber agreed that the attire “was very stylish.”
Barber noted that Cameron Bure “was fantastic.” She remarked, “So this is very edgy. And you can tell the Janet Jackson effect is still strong.”
Full House was a significant sensation in the sitcom industry and aired from 1987 to 1995. The show lasted for eight seasons. Years later, it was given a new installment on Netflix dubbed Fuller House. The revival ran on the streaming service from 2016 until 2020.
The original Full House ensemble comprised Sweetin, Barber with other renowned performers such as Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson.
With the exception of the Olson twins, most of the cast returned for Fuller House.
Cameron Bure, for her part, stars in two new Christmas movies from Great American Family this holiday season. Her first movie, A Christmas Less Traveled, released earlier in November, while the second film, Home Sweet Christmas, premiered on Sunday, December 1.
"It's incredible that Full House, it's never been off the air in over 35 years, like it's always been playing somewhere in the globe on television. So it's very wonderful," she continued.

Candace has discovered "new generations of fans" because to both Full House and Fuller House streaming on Netflix. She told us, "I love that there are new generations of admirers. Kids could turn on Netflix and they watch Fuller House and then their parents say, well, you know, here's the original program. And then the kids are like, 'Oh my gosh.' And they find Full House for the first time. And it's quite wonderful that even though we shot that program in the 80s and 90s, it's genuinely weathered the test of time."
The actress revealed she still gets noticed in the street because to the program. "That is kind of mind blowing that this character that's been around for such a long time is being rediscovered by a new generation," she remarked.
While Candace has been blown away by the success of Full House, she never anticipated it to still be getting talked about. The No One Would Tell actress stated, "It's very uncommon for a program to carry on for so many years, because you think about all the television series and there are fantastic ones, but 10 years goes by and 20 years goes by and a lot of them are forgotten. But, there are a handful of these legendary shows that actually live on forever. And I would have never expected that Full House would be one of them."
