Jason Kelce Dresses as Santa Claus and Brings Christmas Spirit

Jason Kelce sleighed the Christmas season on a festive episode of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown.

Kelce, 37, dressed up as Santa Claus for the Monday, December 23 broadcast before the game between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers in Green Bay, Wisconsin’s Lambeau Field.

The show started with Kelce, dressed as Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, singing an impromptu version of “Silent Night” that paid a nod to one of his Monday Night Countdown cohosts.

“Marcus Spears, a.k. a. Swagoo / We will see you soon,” Kelce sung. “Football is awwwww-some.”

Inside Lambeau Field, Kelce was then spotted sitting at the Monday Night Countdown analyst desk still dressed as Santa.

Monday Night Countdown anchor Scott Van Pelt initially previewed Kelce’s joyful presence on Monday afternoon.

“Coming up on MNCD….,” Van Pelt, 58, wrote on X, accompanied a picture of Kelce as Santa and Van Pelt dressed up as Buddy the Elf, Will Ferrell’s character from Elf.

The first thing many of Van Pelt’s fans noticed was Kelce’s dramatic weight reduction, which made for a very slimmed-down Santa.

“Kelce looking so thin!!” one person wrote via X. “Definitely my favorite Santa.” Another remarked, “Omg Kelce is skinny Santa.”

On the Thursday, November 19 bonus episode of Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, Kelce recounted how he discovered out the truth about Santa Claus while growing up in Ohio.

“Somebody told me, and I don’t remember how old I was,” he recounted. “I was in elementary school. But I remember returning home and asking mom and dad and being set down and them explaining to me, ‘Unfortunately, it’s not true. But we need you to not inform Travis.’”

Kelce cohosts the famous podcast with his younger brother, Travis Kelce, who praised Jason for not leaking the goods.

“Well, Jason didn’t tell me,” Travis, 35, added. “I figured it out on my own when every single present had mom’s handwriting on it.”

Jason chuckled as Travis remembered how their mother, Donna Kelce, unwittingly let the cat out of the bag.

“I was like, ‘This is how mom spells all of our names,’” Travis added. “I was just like, ‘What the f—? Where’s the one that’s from Santa and not mom? Santa and mom have the same handwriting, that’s crazy.’”

The game between the Saints and Packers represents the final Monday Night Countdown telecast before Christmas. The team returns to the air on Monday, December 30, as the Detroit Lions travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers.

The Monday Night Countdown team was at Lambeau Field for Week 16's game between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers, and Jason Kelce was feeling celebratory before kickoff.

Kelce donned in a Santa Claus suit and pranced about the grounds of Lambeau Field passing out some Wisconsin-themed gifts––slices of cheese––to fans in the audience. Kelce was carrying a stack of cheese under his arm as he moved over to the sideline to present the cheese to the supporters. After dishing out a few slices, he delivered the full block of cheese to some enthusiastic admirers, who proceeded to eat nibbles directly off the block.

Kelce had a wide grin on his face as he gave Christmas pleasure to the citizens of Green Bay.

"I don't know. I hope they eat it, that's what I came it for," Kelce remarked when Scott Van Pelt asked him whether the fans were eating his offered cheese.

Before turning to commercial, the program showed Kelce munching on a huge wheel of cheese while the rest of the crew could be seen staring in surprise in the background.

Kelce, Van Pelt, and "Stanford Steve" Coughlin all got into the Christmas spirit early Monday, going about Green Bay dressed as Santa Claus and a couple of elves. The vibrations were high as they paraded about town in the snow.

Kelce's antics are becoming a regular before Monday night games, and he made the most of his first trip to Lambeau Field as a member of the media.
